AIRPORT BY ROAD
Living close to an airport? A taxi is a viable option: comfortable, no driving stress and direct to the terminal drop off point so no problems with parking or transfer from a car park. The fare could be less than the cost of airport parking.
Allow for possible traffic delays: missing your flight will be a bad start.
Driving to the airport on the day can be stressful, especially if there are traffic problems. You must allow extra time for parking and transfer from car park to terminal (with more luggage handling). Fuel cost and parking fees could cost more than hiring a taxi.
GETTING AWAY
National Express has also partnered with Holiday Extras for combined coach travel and airport hotel packages which include return coach fares and an overnight stay at a hotel. Package prices offer excellent value.
There are local bus and coach services to many regional airports and London Heathrow. Details are usually given on airport web sites.
London area is particularly well served but local services elsewhere are sparse.
The Gatwick Flyer and The Stansted Flyer operate door-to-door services for those airports from south Essex and parts of Kent and Surrey.
easyBus* operates airport bus services from central London to Luton, Gatwick and Stansted and runs transfers to them from Heathrow (in combination with London Underground). Fares are from £2.00 one way.
easyBus can be used by anyone - no need to be a passenger with easyJet or any other airline.
London has excellent rail travel links
